What is a Notary Public?

A notary public is a trustworthy, responsible and dignified member of our society. Appointed by the office of the Secretary of State (the State government) as third-party, impartial witness. As a third-party, impartial witness, he or she is authorized to take acknowledgement, administer oath and perform other notarial acts as authorized by state law.

American Notary Group's participatory seminar activity is approved by the State Bar of California. An Attorney-applicant attending this seminar (in addition to the State approved six hours) shall earn a total of 5.0 MCLE credit hours upon class completion.
